Accessibility statement
Our commitment to an accessible website
Data Function Inc. is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which exceeds the WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirement of Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.
What we have done
- Semantic structure: one main heading per page, landmarks, and a logical heading order.
- Full keyboard operability, a visible focus indicator on every interactive element, and a skip link to the main content.
- Text that can be resized to 200% and layouts that reflow at 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling. Pinch-zoom is never disabled.
- Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- Descriptive alternative text for informative images, and empty alternative text for decorative ones.
- Form fields with visible labels, clear error messages announced to assistive technology, and no time limits.
- Videos are silent product demonstrations with a text description; autoplay is suppressed for people who prefer reduced motion, and playback can be paused.
- Menus and accordions built on native controls or the WAI-ARIA patterns, usable with a keyboard and a screen reader.
How we test
Every release is checked with automated tools (axe-core and Lighthouse) and by hand: keyboard-only navigation, screen readers (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS), 200% zoom and a 320-pixel viewport. This statement was last reviewed on 12 October 2026.
Known limitations
- Some product screenshots contain small text that is described in the alternative text but may not be legible when magnified. We are replacing these with higher-resolution images.
- Third-party sites we link to (including client websites and our product sites) have their own accessibility practices.

Accessibility in the work we do for clients
We build client websites to the same WCAG 2.1 AA target, test them the same way, and can supply an accessibility statement and conformance summary at launch. Members of our team have completed AODA training (AccessForward: General Requirements, and Information and Communications Standards).
