Nonprofits, healthcare and public sector: Easier to understand, easier to access, easier to support

A parent should find help in three clicks. A donor should see what their gift does in one. A staff member should update a page without calling a developer. That is the standard we build to for organizations with a public mandate.

What organizations ask for

Six requirements, and how we meet each one

The priorities we see in RFPs from Ontario nonprofits, treatment centres, health organizations and municipalities, each answered by something we have built.

  • Accessibility first

WCAG 2.1 AA as the target, above AODA's WCAG 2.0 AA. Our admin panel requires alt text, enforces heading order and flags vague link text, so staff cannot publish an inaccessible page. Tested with axe, Lighthouse, keyboard and screen readers; accessibility statement at launch.

  • Easy to find and act

Navigation by audience, key actions fixed in the header, typo-tolerant search with synonyms, and three clicks or fewer to the tasks that matter, validated by tree testing.

  • Strategy, not just a rebuild

We inventory every page and PDF, measure accessibility and speed, and map each item to an audience and a decision: keep, merge, rewrite or archive.

  • Secure and sustainable

Hosting, databases, backups and form data in AWS Canada (Central). No third-party plugin attack surface, firewall, encryption, multi-factor staff login, daily backups and monitoring. You own the code, content, domain and hosting account.

  • A site your team can run

An admin panel built for non-technical staff: pages assembled from accessible sections, roles and approvals, scheduling, version history, plain-language guides and live training.

  • Procurement-ready

AODA-trained team members, references on request, and transparent pricing by phase with hours and rates shown.

How we work

Content, design and code planned together

We partner with senior communications and design specialists from healthcare philanthropy, education and family-facing organizations. One contract, one point of accountability.

  • Discovery: stakeholder interviews, audience needs, success measures, governance
  • Structure: audience-based sitemap, tree testing, keep/merge/rewrite/archive decisions
  • Design: mobile-first wireframes and a design system within your brand, accessibility-reviewed
  • Build: templates, admin panel, search, forms and integrations with the tools you already use
  • Content and testing: scripted migration, redirects, WCAG 2.1 AA testing, usability testing with real users
  • Launch and support: training, documentation, 30-day stabilization and a year of light support

Questions

Accessibility, hosting and ownership

Do you build to AODA and WCAG standards?

Yes. Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which exceeds the WCAG 2.0 AA level that Ontario's AODA requires. We test with automated tools (axe, Lighthouse) and manually with keyboard and screen readers, and we can supply an accessibility statement and conformance summary at launch.

Can you host in Canada?

Yes. For organizations with data-residency requirements we deploy to AWS Canada (Central) in Montreal, so the website, database, backups and form submissions stay in Canada.

Will we be locked in to you?

No. We use standard open-source technology, the organization owns the code in its own repository and the hosting account, and we deliver documentation so any qualified developer could take over. Content can be exported at any time.

Do you handle personal or health information?

We design websites so they do not store it: referral, donation and portal data stays with the systems you already use, and payments go through PCI-compliant hosted checkouts. Any forms we build encrypt submissions and follow a retention schedule agreed with your privacy officer (PHIPA, PIPEDA), and they can store data in Canada when your mandate requires it.

Can you provide references?

Yes. We provide references for comparable projects on request, and we answer procurement questionnaires in writing.
