Force-V: Real-time monitoring for commercial solar plants, on web, iOS and Android

Force-V installs and monitors commercial solar systems. Its operators, suppliers and customers now see production, consumption, savings and equipment faults across every plant, with a push alert the moment an inverter fails.

Force-V walkthrough: real-time solar and energy monitoring1 min 48 s · no audio

Read what the video shows

A 1 minute 48 second silent walkthrough of the Force-V monitoring platform, with captions on screen and sample data. It shows switching between inverter, consumption, grid and generator sources in real time; daily, monthly and yearly production trends; cost savings from fuel and grid; the fleet overview with online plants, plants with alarms and partially offline plants on a map; opening a single site from the fleet; a live flow graph of inverter, grid, generator and load for one plant; daily production and local weather; historical distribution and cost savings for each plant; environmental benefits such as carbon dioxide reduction and trees planted, alongside total yield; power analysis by grid and inverter; and the fault log, where an active fault is marked resolved. It ends on the line Force-V: monitor smarter, save more.

The business

A solar and energy-automation company that installs and services commercial solar systems and sells monitoring to the businesses that own them.

The problem

  • Readings from inverters and generators across many sites arrived in different formats; turning them into production, savings and plant-health figures was manual.
  • Faults were found late, and every customer needed to see only their own plants.
  • Customers expected a phone app, not a spreadsheet by email.

How we solved it

  1. 01

Hardware integration over MQTT through an EMQX broker, with readings landing in MySQL and heavy calculations run as stored procedures.

  2. 02

A Django REST API with JWT authentication, administrator, supplier and customer roles, and explicit user-to-plant assignments.

  3. 03

A React web dashboard (energy flow, production history, weather, map, Excel export) and a React Native app for iOS and Android with push notifications for new alarms.

How they use it to grow

  • In production for more than two years, monitoring 100+ plants, with apps in the App Store and Google Play.
  • Force-V sells monitoring as part of every installation and keeps extending the platform with us, most recently a fuel-management module for generator sites.

Security and compliance

Safeguards applied on this project

  • Token-based authentication with email verification and password reset
  • Per-plant data isolation by role
  • Separate development and production environments with automated deploys
  • Encrypted transport end to end

Technology

  • React
  • React Native (Expo)
  • Django REST Framework
  • MySQL
  • MQTT / EMQX
  • Docker
  • Push notifications

Screens

From the product
